Alzheimer's Disease Awareness

November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and NEI would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers and mental health professionals who support those living with Alzheimer's disease. This devastating disorder affects a significant portion of the older population, yet it remains under-recognized, with limited treatment options. In addition to the hallmark cognitive challenges of Alzheimer’s dementia, many patients also experience neuropsychiatric symptoms, such as agitation. These symptoms are sometimes misdiagnosed and require specialized treatment approaches that differ from those used for memory or other cognitive issues. At NEI, we're dedicated to advancing awareness and delivering the latest clinically relevant education for healthcare professionals and caregivers who support individuals impacted by Alzheimer's disease.
